The Park is accessible by the RTC bus lines.

HOTELS/LODGING

In addition to a short drive from world class Las Vegas Strip hotel accommodations, there are several smaller hotel choices, including Hampton Inn & Suites and Holiday Inn Express & Suites within five miles of the park. In addition, there are three larger hotel/casinos, Suncoast, Rampart/ J.W. Marriot, and Silverton less than 10 miles from the Park.
RESIDENTIAL MASTER PLANNED COMMUNITIES

HIGHWAY OVERVIEW

One of the most positive aspects of the UNLV Harry Reid Research and Technology Park (Park) is its ideal commercial location in Las Vegas, allowing for easy ingress and egress to and from the Park. The infrastructure enablers for this extremely important Park attribute are the outstanding highway/roadway systems located directly on the Park's perimeter, as well as the Park's internal road backbone. The 215 Beltway circumnavigates the Park's perimeter connecting it to the major residential communities of Summerlin and Green Valley, as well as McCarran International Airport. Two major Clark County/Las Vegas roadway arterials, Durango and Sunset, are directly on the Park's perimeter. Less than one mile from the Park, these two arterials connect directly to the 215 Beltway at the Durango and Sunset exits. A substantial Special Improvement District (SID) project has been approved by Clark County to enhance materially Durango, Sunset, and Russell adjacent to the Park to become six lane arterials. On October 6, 2008 Ed Andrews, the Project Leader for the SID, was given approval to initiate the construction process. Durango is likely to be the first arterial constructed followed by Sunset and Russell.
  • The Durango SID will connect with the already existing and improved six-lane section of Durango from Hacienda to the 215 Beltway onramp. The Park intersects with Durango at Patrick, Post, Teco, and Sunset. As a major Clark County/Las Vegas roadway, Durango is six lanes running North to South.
  • The six lane Sunset SID intersects with the 215 Beltway to the west and Buffalo to the east where Sunset is already six lanes. The Park intersects with Sunset at Durango, Solutions Parkway, and Cimarron. As growth density increases, the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) plans to connect Sunset, in its six-lane format, to Las Vegas Blvd. and ultimately McCarran Airport.
  • The Russell SID intersects with Durango just north of the Park. It, too, will be six lanes, connecting to the Fort Apache amenity zone and the 215 Beltway.
Effectively, the Park is fed by 18 lanes of directly proximate highways and roadways consisting of the six lane 215 Beltway, the six lane North/ South Durango major arterial roadway, and the six-lane East/West Sunset major arterial roadway. Another RTC planned project is the Rapid Transit Bus emanating from Las Vegas Blvd. and McCarran Airport. This high-speed transportation system will run along the 215 Beltway, and its planned terminal station ending is at the 215 Beltway and Sunset exit.
